M392 Designated Marksmen Rifle
The M392 Designated Marksmen Rifle or occasionally notified as the "DMR", is a semi-automatic rifle which has a 15-round detachable magazine feature containing 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition.
It has a maximum ammunition capacity of 60 rounds and ranges of Medium to Long.
The M392 is strictly similar to the battle rifle of Halo 3 as a battle rifle and additional purpose weapon.
The M392 had its first reign when Halo Reach was released.
Advantages:
The DMR is an excellent sniper weapon when used as a head-shot killer, which will slay anyone with a couple of hits. The DMR only requires five body shots and one last shot to the head to acclaim a kill. The DMR has ranges other weapons don't, and similar equivalents with the SRS99 Sniper Rifle's range.
Disadvantages:
Due to its semi-automatic fire, it is a substandard weapon in close-quarters combat. Additionally, the DMR only holds 15 rounds, resulting in frequent reloads which could endanger the user. and finally, ammunition is scarce; with only four reserve magazines. Each mag has 15 rounds. 15+15+15+15 = 60 .
Adaptation to clans:
The DMR has also been widely adopted by clan military's around the community as its main, primary weapon.
It is also the most used firearm in the community and by any player on Halo Reach itself due to its basic, yet effective design.
